Located in the South Loop on Van Buren Street, the Metropolitan Correctional Center, a federal prison, was designed by architect Harry Weese. Built in 1975 and located in the congested Loop area, the 27-floor triangular skyrise makes room for a prisoners' exercise yard on its roof.
