Election Returns, 1830
During the 1830 state-wide elections, thirty-two men living in the "Chicago precinct" gathered in the home of John Kinzie to vote for governor and lieutenant governor. Their selection for the top office, John Reynolds, was elected by Illinois voters and took office in December 1830, with Zadoc Casey as Lieutenant Governor.
